Kari Fell is an artist who lives, weaves and paints in beautiful Cape Breton. Kari recently travelled to Uzbekistan on a fibre arts tour. The country is located on the historic silk road and is full of the art and architecture of many people that flowed through the area. Kari attended a week-long workshop on ikat dyeing a warp for weaving while there. The tour also included many visits to artisan studios in Tashkent, Margilan, Nukus, Khiva, Bukhara, and Samarkand. The sights, beautiful artworks and textiles have provided inspiration and sent her work in a whole new direction.
