So, you are looking at buying and processing a raw (right off the sheep, not washed, possibly un-skirted) fleece, but is it going to be what you want it to be??? or need it to be????

Come and spend some time with Jackie Wile of Wile’s Woolies looking at raw fleeces. We will discuss how to determine if the fleece healthy, its characteristics, the different types of fleece and what they may be best suited for. Jackie will be bringing several raw fleeces from her own sheep, which are long wool breeds, to examine in the various processing stages: raw, washed, carded, & spun to see how it goes from Oh My!!! To Ooooooh my goodness!

Participants should bring note taking tools if they want them, and be prepared to touch raw fleeces, so bring latex or rubber gloves if you want.

Max number of participants: 12

Cost: $6 / person*

Coffee and Tea are available on site, but please remember to bring your lunch.

If you have any questions about the hands-on, contact Lorna Ash at 902-240-7479

* Please note that the registration fee is non-refundable. If participants cancel or no show, they forfeit the registration fee. If ASH cancels or postpones the workshop, the workshop fee will be applied as a credit on participants accounts for future workshops.
